Tom Selleckโ€™s New Jesse Stone Movie Is Perfect for Donnie Wahlberg After Blue Bloods!

With Blue Bloods officially wrapped, Tom Selleck may be returning to his beloved role as Jesse Stone, and thereโ€™s a perfect role for co-star Donnie Wahlberg to join him. Before Blue Bloods came along, Selleck was already well-known for co-writing and starring in the Jesse Stone movies, a series of noir-style mysteries. However, his commitments to the CBS police drama kept him from reprising his role as the troubled Paradise police chief in recent years. Now that Blue Bloods has ended, thereโ€™s buzz around the possibility of Jesse Stone 10, and Selleck has expressed interest in returning to the role, though heโ€™s uncertain about his next move.

Itโ€™s been nearly a decade since Selleck last portrayed Jesse Stone, and much has likely changed in the characterโ€™s life. To reinvigorate the next chapter, it would be wise to bring in some familiar faces from Blue Bloods to boost the filmโ€™s appeal. Donnie Wahlberg, in particular, would be an excellent addition to the ensemble.

In Jesse Stone: Lost in Paradise, fans saw the absence of Captain Healy, portrayed by Stephen McHattie, who had been a close ally of Jesse Stone. With McHattie now in his late 70s and likely retired from the role of Captain, the next film could introduce a younger, more aggressive character to fill Healyโ€™s shoes. Wahlberg would be a great fit for this dynamic, bringing a fresh energy to the Jesse Stone series while reconnecting with Blue Bloods fans who have followed him as Detective Danny Reagan for years.
