Tom Selleck Open to Reprising Frank Reagan Role in β€˜Boston Blue’ Spinoff

Fans of Blue Bloods may not have seen the last of Frank Reagan just yet. Following the conclusion of the long-running CBS police drama, Tom Selleck has expressed interest in returning to the Blue Bloods universe through the upcoming spinoff, Boston Blue.

The new series, currently in early development at CBS, will center around Danny Reagan (played by Donnie Wahlberg) as he transitions into a leadership role within the Boston Police Department. While Selleck’s involvement has not been officially confirmed, sources close to the project say producers are eager to bring him back in a recurring capacity, potentially as a mentor figure to his on-screen son.

β€œI’d never say never,” Selleck shared in a recent interview. β€œFrank Reagan has been a big part of my life, and if there’s a great story to tell, I’d certainly be open to it.”

With Boston Blue expected to premiere in 2026, fans remain hopeful that Selleck’s beloved NYPD commissioner will make an appearance, even if it’s in a guest-starring role. More details on the spinoff, including additional cast members, are expected to be announced in the coming months.
