“There’s usually a lot of people who watch rehearsals, and sometimes we’ll joke around or I’ll say something like, ‘It’s going to be a great day’ to hype everyone up,” he recalled. “We’ll even improvise a few lines for laughs. But that day, everyone was trying to stay grounded — focusing on the work while holding back the emotions.”
