Tom Selleck is preparing to celebrate a major milestoneโhis 80th birthdayโjust as Blue Bloods comes to a close after nearly 15 seasons. In a recent interview, the actor, known for his preference to keep his personal life private, shared some of his plans and reflections.
While he doesnโt put much emphasis on birthdays anymore, Selleck hinted at a simple celebration. โIโll probably have dinner with my brother, sister, and Jillie,โ he said, adding that he would keep it low-key and โnot make a big deal of it.โ This understated approach mirrors the family dinners that became a beloved hallmark of Blue Bloods.
Selleck also opened up about his family life on his 65-acre California ranch, where he lives with his wife, Jillie Mack, and their daughter, professional equestrian Hannah Selleck. Family-centered holiday traditions are important to them, particularly at Christmas. However, with their growing family, the tradition of gathering at the familyโs 1910 hunting lodge has become more challenging.
As Blue Bloods wrapped up, Selleck expressed his desire to reconnect with the cast and crew, who he considers his second family. When asked if he took anything from the set, he admitted to keeping Frank Reaganโs engraved Rolex and a Marine Corps ringโboth cherished mementos from his time on the show. โI couldnโt bring his desk with me, but that would have been neat,โ he said with a smile.
