Wilmer Valderrama Promises ‘NCIS’ Season 23 Will ‘Set the Fans on Fire’
It’s officially time for a brand-new season of NCIS — and Wilmer Valderrama is turning up the heat.
In an exclusive chat with TVLine’s Claire Franken ahead of the Season 23 premiere (Tuesday, 8/7c on CBS), Valderrama teased that fans should brace themselves for a “massive” moment that he says will “set the fans on fire.” While he stayed tight-lipped on the details, he promised that “the speculation’s going to drive everyone crazy.”
Of course, fans are already buzzing over a certain shot in the Season 23 trailer — one that hints at possible sparks between Valderrama’s Nick Torres and Jessica Knight (Katrina Law). The potential romance comes with plenty of complications, considering Jessica previously dated Jimmy Palmer and Torres once dated her sister, Robin.
“It’s a little messy,” Valderrama admitted with a laugh. “But there’s definitely something happening underneath. We’re having a lot of fun exploring the humanity of these characters — and that workplace drama is always delicious to watch. So, we’ll see how far it goes.”
Valderrama also revealed that this season’s storytelling will feel more connected than ever before. “Every episode this season is intentionally stitched together for an arc,” he explained. “Fans should definitely read into everything — even the smallest little scenes.”
And that’s not all — some very familiar faces will be returning to NCIS this year, and according to Valderrama, their comeback is far more than a quick cameo. “They’re instrumental for what we’re planning,” he teased. “They’re going to serve as something bigger.”
With romance rumors, long-awaited returns, and a mysterious “massive” scene on the way, NCIS Season 23 is already shaping up to be one of the show’s most explosive chapters yet.
