After Callen and Annaβs wedding, a courier delivered an envelope sealed with Hettyβs initials. Why Hetty Wasnβt in the Final Episode
The reason for Hettyβs absence was simple: Linda Hunt wasnβt available.
Showrunner Scott Gemmill revealed to TV Insider in May 2023:
βIf Linda had been available, the finale mightβve been a rescue mission for Hetty. But given the circumstances, we honored her in the way we could.β
In an interview with TV Line, he added:
βHer relationship with Callen has always been like a mother-son bond, so we knew she had to be part of the ending somehow. Even if just in spirit.β
