After 14 seasons, Blue Bloods came to a close in December 2024, leaving fans and cast members alike heartbroken. But CBS quickly announced its spin-off, Boston Blue, which follows the next chapter in the lives of two original Blue Bloods characters.
Set to premiere Friday, October 17, the show promises to bring familiar faces back to the screen — along with a few surprising cameos.
Blue Bloods Stars Returning for Boston Blue
Danny Reagan – Donnie Wahlberg
At the center of the spinoff is Frank Reagan’s eldest son, Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg), who leaves New York behind to start anew in Boston. Without his law enforcement family around, Danny faces the challenges of policing in a new city — and proving he can handle it on his own.
Wahlberg shared his excitement on Instagram earlier this year:
“So excited to carry on the tradition, to share so many surprises, to answer some unanswered questions and to welcome all of you — to #BostonBlue! The next chapter in the #BlueBloods legacy begins. I can’t wait. See you CBS fall!”
