Tom Selleck Spotted at McDonaldโs Before Celebrating His 80th Birthday
Tom Selleck kicked off his milestone 80th birthday with a low-key solo stop at McDonald’s. The Magnum P.I. star was spotted picking up fast food at a drive-thru in Thousand Oaks, California, on Tuesday, just a day before his big celebration.
The following evening, Selleck was seen holding hands with his wife, Jillie Mack, after a birthday dinner at the upscale Italian restaurant Tuscany il Ristorante. The longtime couple, married since 1987, were joined by their daughter, Hannah, 36, for the intimate gathering with family and friends.
Dressed casually for the occasion, Selleck wore a dark red button-down shirt under a light brown blazer, paired with blue jeans and olive green sneakers. Jillie, 67, complemented his look in a black and beige striped maxi dress, a light brown leather jacket, and black ankle boots. As they walked hand in hand, Selleck carried a cigar box while Jillie held a gift bag.
Looking Ahead After Blue Bloods
In a December interview with Parade, Selleck admitted he hadnโt given much thought to celebrating his 80th birthday, saying, โIโm trying not to count. I stopped celebrating birthdays a while back. I intend to keep working.โ
With Blue Bloods ending after 14 successful seasons, Selleck is already eyeing his next project. Though offers arenโt โpouring in,โ he remains optimistic about future roles, expressing a desire to return to the Western genre. The Emmy-winning actor, who resides on a 63-acre ranch in Ventura, California, hinted at interest in a project with Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.
“A good Westernโs always on my list,” Selleck said. “I miss that; I want to sit on a horse again.” Having starred in seven Westerns throughout his careerโincluding Quigley Down Under, Crossfire Trail, and Monte Walshโheโs eager to return to the genre that helped define his career.
As for whatโs next, Selleck remains open-minded but firm on one thing: โI donโt want to do Frank Reagan II.โ Whatever his next move may be, fans can rest assured that retirement isnโt in the cards just yet for the Hollywood icon.
